I bought this as a solution for setting the height and angle of my laptop screen so that it matched that of a second monitor. I use a separate keyboard and I did not use the included mouse attachment at all. This stand works well for a situation where you don't need to physically interact with the laptop much. It probably isn't stable enough for using the laptop keyboard because (depending on the setup) it would increase the risk of tipping.
