These shelves are laminate, but it's thicker than many of the cheaper wood laminates out there.Easy to put together and looks and feels higher quality that the price would reflect.Note that the 2nd and third shelves have a metal support beam to prevent warping.I didn't know this till I started the assembly. It's a big plus that they fail to mention in the product description.Highly recommended!
